Description
Like the Marseille native Régine Crespin, Véronique Gens delights in and enchants us with the light and delicate repertoire of the “Mozart of the Champs-Élysées.”
Véronique Gens, soprano
Federico Tibone, conductor
Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra
Her moving tone and proven technique have worked wonders in Baroque music. After an unforgettable performance as Elvira at the Festival d’Aix with Abbado, Véronique Gens has embodied Mozart’s heroines on the world’s greatest stages.
Her vocal range has since expanded, and she has taken on tragic roles. Her love of great texts has also opened the door to the treasures of sensitivity contained in French melody.
She has just recorded an album entirely devoted to the arias of Jacques Offenbach, some of which are previously unreleased.
