Description
For her recital at the Opera, Violaine Debever has chosen Maurice Ravel, a composer who is particularly close to her heart.
Violaine Debever, piano
Violaine Debever began her musical training at the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory in Marseille.
A few years later, she joined the class of concert pianist Nicholas Angelich at the Paris Conservatory. She subsequently devoted herself body and soul to the music of her time, working notably with violinist Hae-Sun Kang of the Ensemble Intercontemporain. She completed her training at the Boston Conservatory.
For her recital at the Opera, Violaine Debever has chosen Maurice Ravel, a composer who is particularly close to her heart. Miroirs consists of five pieces that could be described as impressionistic, even though Ravel rejected that term. Jeux d’eau follows in the tradition of Liszt’s poetic and spectacular pieces. Gaspard de la Nuit is a romantic, fantastical, mystical, and wildly virtuosic work.
