Departing from the Rotonde roundabout at the bottom of the Cours Mirabeau, embark on a one-hour guided tour aboard a 100% electric tourist train that retraces the history of Aix-en-Provence's most famous painter, Paul Cezanne.
Comfortably seated on electric tourist train, the ‘In Cezanne’s footsteps” tour invites you to discover the key locations in Aix-en-Provence associated with Paul-Cezanne, the Provencal icon of modern painting. This tour covers the places that inspired Cezanne throughout his life.
It includes a 15-minute break at the Terrain des Peintres, facing Mount Sainte-Victoire. A true source of inspiration for Cezanne, it was in this green setting on the heights of Aix-en-Provence that the artist painted his most famous pictures. As you stroll through this open-air museum, you'll be able to admire several reproductions of paintings depicting Sainte Victoire, Cezanne's supreme muse.
The tour features scripted audio commentaries available in 8 languages, detailing Cezanne's life, his influences and the profound connections between his work and the city of Aix-en-Provence.
The commentary in French is broadcast directly over the loudspeakers, andeadphones are also available for non-French-speaking visitors.
