Description

A stroll through the various phases of the LUMA Arles site, from the Roman necropolis to the former railroad workshops, all the way to its transformation into a creative campus.
This tour, organized in conjunction with European Heritage Days, offers a stroll through the Parc des Ateliers, taking in the different periods of its history. First a Roman necropolis, then a site for the construction and repair of steam locomotives, and finally an industrial wasteland, the site underwent numerous transformations before becoming a creative campus. The tour allows you to explore the renovated buildings of the Parc des Ateliers and trace their history, observing how they have changed over time—from “before” to “after.” The tour will conclude at the Magasin Électrique, one of the LUMA Arles buildings, which houses Atelier LUMA, a design research laboratory.
