Description
For 2 weeks, on the occasion of the Mediterranean Season, Studio Fotokino presents productions resulting from research carried out since last year in partnership with The Mothership (Tangiers, Morocco).
To coincide with "Dormir comme le soleil", his monumental installation at the Vieille Charité, inaugurated on May 16, Adrien Vescovi invites us into his studio for a convivial conversation about his work, and more broadly, about the use of textiles in contemporary creation. We'll talk with him about the genesis of this project, the life of the workshop, the materials used and the stories that his skills conjure up.
Adrien Vescovi has been living and working in Marseille since 2017, after a long practice based in the mountains of Haute-Savoie. With contemporary issues at stake, the artist reinvents the question of the free canvas and painting thought out on an architectural or natural scale. The importance of the context in which the artist comes to install his works is for him an essential factor of study. Adrien composes temporalities, assembling colors worked by air (sun and moonlight, snow, pollution), earth (ochres and vegetation), and fire (cooking). Her way of sewing is a way of painting. Chance is her ally.
