Description
A not-to-be-missed summer rendezvous True to its traditions, Saint-Étienne du Grès is supporting its associations to put on the eagerly-awaited fête votive de la Saint-Éloi, from 7 to 11th of August.
It's an event that attracts many admirers of these spectacular Saint-Éloi cart races every year. See you at the first bend on Saturday 7 and Sunday 10 August!
Programme for Saint-Eloi 2026 :
• Saturday 1 August:
10.00 am: Tortillades distribution round in the village.
• Thursday 6 August:
9.00 am: Making bouquets
3.00 pm: Decorating the cart in the town hall courtyard
9.00 pm: Bullfights at the swimming pool – the arena
• Friday 7 August:
7.00 pm: Sardine barbecue with Benedetto & Farina – Town Hall Square
9.00 pm: DJ Dream Music Event – Village centre
10.00 pm: Bull run with the Manade des Alpilles – Village Hall car park
• Saturday 8 August:
11.00 – 17.00: Special children’s day with water games – Village centre
19.00: Cart race in front of the Oratory of Saint Eloi
8.00 pm: Morning serenade for the Mayor – In front of the village hall
9.00 pm: Dinner – DJ Enzo C night – Village centre
9.00 pm: ‘Fiesta Loca’ night – Town Hall Square
10.00 pm: Bull run with the Manade des Alpilles – Village hall car park
• Sunday 9 August:
7.30 am: Mass and lunch for the cart drivers (6 ter, Avenue des Cigales)
9.45 am: High Mass for Saint Eloi at the church.
11.00 am: Parade, blessing and cart race with the Peña du Grès & Lou Riban Esteven
7.00 pm: Abrivado for the gardianou from Mas de Laudun, Rue de la République
8.30 pm: Dinner – Cœur du village
9.00 pm: Musical entertainment with the Newzik orchestra (sponsored by the Town Hall)
• Monday 10 August:
8.00 am: Mass in memory of the deceased, followed by the laying of wreaths at the cemetery.
11.00 am: Abrivado with the Manade Conti – Avenue de la République
1.00 pm: Lunch – Town Hall courtyard
4.30 pm: Trident d’Or semi-final – Arena
8.30 pm: Dinner – Pistou soup – ‘Soirée Blanche’ – village centre
9.00 pm: Musical entertainment by the Laurent Comtat Orchestra (sponsored by the Town Hall)
