The 2026 WR Women’s Chess Tour is a global series featuring the world’s top female chess players.

The 2026 WR Women’s Chess Tour is an international series bringing together some of the world’s best female chess players. Its launch has already generated significant international interest, including more than 20 million views on X. Organized internationally by WR Chess, the tour will make a stop in Saint-Tropez on August 25 and 26, 2026. For this stop in Saint-Tropez, the club Les Fous de la Vieille Tour – Saint-Tropez Chess Club is serving as the local co-organizer and is responsible for organizing and coordinating the event. This marks the first time a women’s chess competition of this international scale has been held in the region. The WR Women’s Chess Tour aims to promote women’s chess throughout the year, support female players, and increase their visibility. This initiative is fully aligned with the Saint-Tropez Chess Club’s commitment to advancing women’s chess. In 2026, the tour will take place across several continents, with stops in Tokyo on June 6 and 7, in Punta Cana on July 1 and 2, and in Maputo on August 21 and 22, before arriving in Saint-Tropez. The Saint-Tropez event will be held at the Vignoble Torpez.
