In 2020, Romain took over from Josiane Déal, "Meilleure ouvrière de France" who set up the store in 1990. The cheese dairy selects its producers with an emphasis on quality and local produce, maturing a variety of local goat cheeses.

Lou Canesteou" means "wicker basket" in Provençal, and the store also offers a selection of wines, delicatessen, charcuterie and cured meats to match the cheeses. Retail cheese, cheese by the slice, platters to order, fresh cheeses, fresh cream, yoghurts.... A temple for cheese lovers and gourmets, with a small delicatessen section.

Orders and home delivery available (Chronofresh throughout France within 24 hours): information and orders by email or telephone.

Discover our made-to-measure cheese platters for your events, from €6 per person. Two possible formats: "cocktail" (pre-cut into small portions) or "traditional" (cut into classic-sized pieces).

Lou Canesteou offers some forty references of wines and beers, with particular attention to the following points:
- Selecting above all small, local producers with low volumes, who make organic wine with few or no external inputs.
- Careful study of pairings with our cheeses to enhance both dishes.
- To have an assortment that changes according to what's new and discovered as a result of our scouting.
- Slightly widen the area of exploration to select fine, original natural wine finds from the Drôme and Ardèche regions.

For professionals: with over 20 years of sanitary approval, Lou Canesteou works with around a hundred establishments (restaurants, hotels, B&Bs, wine bars, delicatessens, etc.) around Vaison la Romaine. Delivery directly with the cheese dairy's refrigerated lorries, or via carrier.
