Want to visit Toulon? Why not do it by bike! The town has set up a number of services to make life easier for cyclists and encourage non-motorised transport. Have you seen the green ways running through the town? They are cycle lanes and strips and there are 53 km of them in Toulon exclusively for cyclists. You have your own bike? There are over 1200 parking slots reserved for bikes in the 165 car parks of the town. And if you don’t have one, go to the Q park terminals which have self-service rental bikes. Psst! Don’t forget to go and see the Vélodrome de Toulon. A beautiful building half-covered in wood and steel with a 600 seat grandstand where you can hear the encouragement from spectators during the big competitions.

The coast is clear on the V65

Do you know the V65? This is the cycling itinerary which foes along beside the Mediterranean, in one direction and then the other, on an easy, accessible ride of more than 90 km. It will soon stretch to 120 km. It’s the ideal circuit for blending the pleasure of an athletic cycle ride and relaxation on the sea shore: when your calves begin to hurt, you can put your bike down and spread your towel on one of the beaches along the trail. It’s also an opportunity to discover the coast ad its villages, as the V65 goes through a total of 20 communes between Saint-Raphaël and Six-Fours. A real journey between the territory of the Var, the Estérel and Provence Méditerranée, not forgetting the Gulf of St-Tropez !

Bikes on the water…

What would you say to a tour in the Mediterranean… by bike! You can do it thanks to the boats set up by the TBM transport service. The boats welcome you and your bike to extend your trip beyond the cycling lanes of the town! A good unusual idea in Toulon to enjoy the warm water before setting off again for new horizons. You have a choice of destinations: you can head for La Seyne-sur-Mer, les Sablettes, Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer and even the Island of Porquerolles on one of the sea lines 8M, 18M et 28M. Budget-wise, you’ll need €14.50 to transport an adult bike and €11.50 for a kid’s bike.
