To coincide with the gradual opening of the artist's family home, the Jas de Bouffan mansion, and the renovation of his studio at Les Lauves, the Musée Granet will be presenting an international exhibition, Cezanne au Jas de Bouffan, from 28 June to 12 October.
More than just a place to live, this mansion at Jas de Bouffan was a veritable laboratory where Cezanne experimented with his art for almost 40 years, between 1859 and 1899.
Through an exceptional selection of around a hundred paintings, drawings and watercolours, this retrospective will plunge you into the intimate world of the artist, revealing his deep connection with this family home. The major themes dear to the Master of Aix will be presented, with each section of the exhibition featuring works such as his bathers, still lifes and landscapes of the family bastide, not forgetting his portraits and self-portraits, which will line the walls of this international exhibition.
These priceless works come from all over the world, including major French museums such as the Musée d'Orsay, as well as from Basel, Chicago, Harvard, London, Los Angeles, New York, Ottawa, Tokyo and Zurich.
An exhibition organised in collaboration with le GrandPalaisRmn and the exceptional support of the Musée d’Orsay
