Elina Cerla invites us into a creative space where drawing extends as far as the trace, and where we inhabit the multiple ways of thinking through drawing.
Elements interact, interrupt and intertwine, weaving their own materiality. The gestural essence of the sculptural, the representational, the abstract and the textual enter into synergistic conversation and co-creation. The space becomes a laboratory where we can observe and interact with the creative process of an installation in progress, an exploration that reveals the multiple skins of drawing: completed, schematic, symbolic, iconic, written, modeled, woven, and always seriously playful. The "made" and the "done" respond to each other. In a world where complex thinking is the only way to fabricate new futures, this space is a love letter to complexity and the generative emergence of strata and interference.
