Description
A gallant comedy with commedia dell'arte overtones.
Loyal to her independence, the Princess of Elide rejects love. But her father organizes a competition between suitors to force her to choose a husband. Among them, the Prince of Ithaca sets out to seduce her with a subtle game of love strategy. Gradually, the princess comes to terms with her own feelings. Beneath its courtly-comedy exterior, the play reveals a deeply theatrical energy inherited from the Italian tradition: social masks, cunning, manipulation and love clashes make up a lively, embodied spectacle.
A total theater combining dance, song, combat, pantomime and acrobatics, carried by a burlesque and generous interpretation.
