Description
Nature and the relationship with landscape are two essential elements in Radouan Mriziga's work. In both his solo Atlas / the Mountain and his piece for six dancers
Magec / the Desert, he celebrates the culture of the Amazigh people...
For Radouan Mriziga, the musicality of the deserts stretching from the Atlantic to Persia and India differs from that of the mountains and the sea. Each space has its own animals, plants and peoples; each space has its own sounds and rhythms. All these elements, sensations and images are choreographed by the artist with the complicity of six dancers from contemporary dance and hip-hop. All exceptional in their precision, presence and power, solo, in duet or together, they symbolize an imaginary bestiary, sublimated by delicate costumes. Tunisian DJ and producer Deena Abdelwahed, the only woman in the cast, is a masterful presence, mixing live electro beats with melodies born in the Sahara and traveling from Egypt to the Gulf and deserts of India, shaping an enchanting sonic and musical landscape. Like an arid land surveyed by a joyful fraternity with infectious energy, Magec / the Desert rustles with the voices of the desert, where life and movement are the stuff of magic.
