The Provençal cot includes of course the Holy Family, but also traditional characters from Provence.
The santons are inspired by local life. Beyond the Holy Trinity, surrounded by the donkey and the ox, you'll find all the inhabitants of the village. Millers, fishmongers, shepherds. And, of course, they're accompanied by the rapturous Virgin Mary, whose arms are raised in the air to announce the birth of the Christ Child.
