Description
After studying art in Aix-Marseille and Paris in the 1990s, Sabine Balp has been teaching visual arts ever since, using painting, drawing, photography and volume.
Her artistic research explores memory, the emergence of memories, desire and expectation. The works exhibited here feature simple, everyday items that she photographs in her kitchen, or ceramic elements that she shapes to let the images come to her. The images and paintings are then linked to texts, often visibly knotted for hanging. They intertwine in a singular way, responding to each other, linking up to tell a personal mythology or invent a fiction that, if we allow ourselves to, takes us back to our own history.
