The sails of Cassis

Co-organized with the Port-Miou Yacht Club and under the auspices of the French Association of Traditional Yachts, the event marks the official start of the season. For three days, these exceptional sailboats will sail against a stunning natural backdrop, between the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. A must-see event for both sea enthusiasts and curious visitors seeking authenticity. New this year: • The nautical village, featuring a dozen exhibitors, will welcome you on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, with a relaxation area where you can follow the race’s highlights as well as a retrospective of the 2025 edition on a giant screen. The village is open from Friday through Sunday evening, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Children from Cassis schools will be able to participate in 3 workshops: exploring the skills involved in wooden boat building at the “Vent d'Ouest” shipyard stand, discovering boats, learning about the intertidal zone and environmental protection... • Track the progress of the sailboats on the regatta courses via live position updates displayed on screens throughout the village. PROGRAM: Friday, May 22: • 10 a.m.: Village opens • 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.: Lunch service every day—seafood • 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.: Crew presentations to the public • 6 p.m.: Village closes Saturday, May 23: • 10 a.m.: Village opens • 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.: Food service – seafood • 1–2 p.m.: Live regatta coverage on screen with race commentary by an announcer, interviews... • 4:00 PM: Debriefing of the day’s race by the announcer • 5:00 PM: Return of the regattas • 6:00 PM: Village closes Sunday, May 24: • 9:00 AM: Departure from the pier, boarding (by reservation at the harbor master’s office) • 10:00 AM: Village opens. Watch the regatta, multiple heats, under the tent • 11:30 AM–2:30 PM: Food service—seafood • 1:00 PM–2:00 PM: Live regattas on the big screen • 4:00 PM: Debriefing of the day’s race by the announcer • 5:00 PM: Regattas return • 5:30 PM–6:00 PM: Awards ceremony • 7:00 PM: Village closes ... And as always, the opportunity to board a support boat to dive into the heart of the regattas and experience this human and sporting event up close to the action.
